Details

Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2466
Description[?]:
What is it about the number two that equals stability and love? Our current adoption policy excludes all single people and polyamorous relationships. When both of these situations have potential to offer stable and loving homes for children. It is our belief that aboption should be based on the applicants ability to care for the child/ren, and sticking to this couples only policy is both baseless and counter productive. We alreay screen out the mentally unstable, so why restrict to only couples? |

Message | "This would allow for people who pass the initial test, screening out those with violent pasts and mental illnesses, to adopt children. We would far rather Zardugali orphans to grow up with some form of parent-figure, not in some rundown orphanage. Obviously family's would be the most common adopter, but even single individuals can provide a more stable home then an orphanage. We hope NAM can see our point." ~Protector-General Rowan Payne |

Message | "There are two laws pertaining to our adoption policy. One determines what type of people can adopt children, and this one determines who can adopt. After screening out the violent and the mentally ill, I don't see why singles can't adopt children if they wish it." ~Protector-General Rowan Payne |
