Bill: Madrassah regulation

Details

Submitted by[?]: Union of Progressive Ulama

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: July 2099

Description[?]:

Islamic schools (madrassah) are required to follow the national curriculum. They are exempted from the ban on prayer in public schools, and are free to instill Islamic religious values in their students.

Schools established by other religions are permitted, but they must follow the basic national curriculum like private schools and madrassahs. Given the Islamic majority of the country, schools may not be founded by other religions for the sole purpose of trying to convert Muslims to other faiths. These schools are free to function, but they are not allowed to insult Islam.
