Bill: Weapon Ownership Admendment
Details
Submitted by[?]: Green Socialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2469
Description[?]:
In order to clear up an awkward contradiction in our nation's weapon laws, our party proposes the following: That the Article permitting citizens legal possession of weapons is changed, to confirm with the Article prohibiting all gun ownership for private citizens. This is because we believe that no citizen should be allowed to walk around with any concealed weapon - firearm or not. Furthermore, we believe that if weapons are permitted by firearms are not, this will in effect leave a legal loophole where firearms could be argued to be instead weapons. We believe this amendment is useful to avoid judicial error,or acquittals on a technicality, in the event of a trial concerning weapon use or possession. |
