MessageThe only one I disagree with is Article 6. I think that some information should be kept in public domain. You can't completely trust private publishers.

MessageBesides the previous point, in regards to Article 6, I believe that some works are either so famous or so important that the people should have free access to them. Libraries also serve as a good place to keep copies of public record. I suggest giving use of the record archives for free to all citizens, while placing a charge on the use of the library for literary works.

MessageI agree with the CCU on this, Public Libraries are an integral feature of any cultured society. They not only serve to allow the populace access to information, but provide a meeting place to discuss and process the information thus obtained.

They will, in many cases, increase the eventual sales of books by exposing the patrons to new authors who they can try out before adding to thier own collecctions, as well as older works which are out of print.

I cannot support 3,4,5,6
3=There is no need to pollute Likatonians with this foul unnatural product. If another nation had a drought then we could pass this junk off to them
4=Bit either way though similar to 6
5= the Government must control the water!
6=Libraries at Local Government are a useful source of information. And a National library is great AlexanderTurnbull or the one at Alexandria.

MessageOk now that I have a few comments, i'll try to answer them all..

I'm a little dissapointed that I didn't get the support for the library bill, but that's not a major stumbling block. How about some kind of compromise whereby the govt can contract libraries to the private sector? Would that be acceptable to all parties?

Moving on to RWL-

Proposal 3 merely aims at harnessing the power of new research in biotech. Such technology can be a great boon to farmers across the nation. I don't see why you call it junk!

4 is rather simple we don't really need a public radio station....whatever news we want to give the Likatonian people is already carried by private stations...and nobody listens to documentaries anyway.

5 is an understandable objection...what if we govt contracts with the private sector? Would that be acceptable to you?
