Bill: Wartime media regulations
Details
Submitted by[?]: Pan-Sekowan Fascist Front
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2469
Description[?]:
We are at war. So we need to take complete control over the media for the duration of the conflict: propaganda can be very harmful and eventually lethal to our war efforts. The will of our people for war is the backbone of our war efforts. We cannot afford to lose that will to treacherous foreign propaganda coming from our own media. This is to be only for the duration of the conflict. |

Message | We are not yet technically at war yet, only the HoS can declare war. |
Date | 20:33:53, October 10, 2007 CET | From | 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō) | To | Debating the Wartime media regulations |
Message | As the CFP has pointed out, we are not at war. Regardless of that we will never vote for this shameful thing not even worthy of being called legislation. |
Date | 22:21:41, October 10, 2007 CET | From | Plato's Republican Party | To | Debating the Wartime media regulations |
Message | No war, no matter how vital, can possibly justify loss of freedom to the extent which this bill proposes. Plato's Republicans understand that it is those very freedoms which make our country great, and to do away with them when they become inconvenient is irresponsible and foolish. We do not believe that any such measures as these are necessary, even if we were at war. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
Random quote: "I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish church, by the Roman church, by the Greek church, by the Turkish church, by the Protestant church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church." - Thomas Paine |
