Bill: Pet Registration Act, 2098
Details
Submitted by[?]: Alliance of Free Persons
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2099
Description[?]:
The Alliance of Free Persons supports the rights of people to have pets. Many may remember former Premier Ayers' beagle, who was with him at all times, even during the State of the Republic speeches. However, far too many pets dissapear each year, either in accidents or by running away. In some cases people's pets can prove hazardous to their neighbors. We therefore propose that all pets be registered with the local government, both to assist with the finding of lost pets and in order to allow the states to make such regulations as requiring poisionous snakes to be locked up. |

Message | We will support this, though we trust every effort will be made to ensure it doesn't create sprawling, inefficient bureaucracies, and that pet owners are not charged exorbitant fees to register their animals. |
