Message | MLHF, we understand that you are all for the redistribution of wealth, but shouldn't we have the policies which redistribute that wealth before we take it away? Given the current policies of the nation, the Matty government is taking all the wealth of the nation, then allocating it to departments which don't have the authority to do anything. So essentially all the wealth of the nation is being stolen from those who create it, and held in bank accounts belonging to the government, where it is doing absolutely nothing. Matty combines the taxing and spending policy of the ultimate communist with a set of laws which is ultimately libertarian. This combination bears all of the negative effects which anti-communists attribute to communism, as well as all the negative effects anti-libertarians attribute to libertarianism, with none of the benefits of either. Would it not be better to change policy so that the funding which actually exists is being spent on something before seeking to raise more funds? |

Message | No, we don't need policies which redistribute wealth. We'll just ignore your policies and go ahead and redistribute wealth. |

Message | ICE makes a valid point. WIth state policies the way they are it is too soon to have such a high tax rate. |

Message | The point is that you aren't redistributing anything, because you are taking it away from the earner and then not distributing it to anyone. The point of redistributive policy is to equalize wealth, not to eliminate it. Though of course students of history will realize that generally attempts to equalize wealth result in its eventual elimination anyway, but that is a seperate debate which will have to wait for more civilized times. |

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset. |
