With the recent legislation that announces the Alorian Lion as the Alorian national animal, I think it only fitting that we work toward preserving these noble beasts, as well as their fellow animals at risk. |

Message | We've never understood this bill. Why do you think preventing private ownership of endangered animals will protect them better than permitting regulated private ownership as well as zoological ownership of endangered animals? The way we see it, the current law protects them better than the proposed law. Right now, zoos can keep Alorian Lions. And if some private individual wants to breed them, and can comply with the pertinent regulations, so can he. What about restricting private ownership protects the animals? We agree in principle with protecting endangered species. But we're not convinced this bill does it better than the current law. |

Message | It does better to protect animals because zoological institutes can be regulated by the government, whereas private ownership can not. Even if the trade in endangered animals is regulated, there's no way of knowing what people will do with them once they have them in their possession. 90% of endangered animals are also completely unsuitable for domestication, they are wild beasts and they can be extremely dangerous in the wrong hands! |
