Bill: Police and the National Guard
Details
Submitted by[?]: Society of Sadists
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2098
Description[?]:
We prefer to keep the military and the police separate. Who wants battle troops on the nation's streets in peacetime? But in serious emergencies, like earthquakes and the like, the police should be able to call on the army, navy and air force for assistance. |

Message | Don't be afraid BLP we respect you as a party and we won't put down the demonstrations. But we have to let the military help the people if necessary. The army has helicopters, bigger aircrafts for evacutation. So I agree with SoS |

Message | It would be pretty ridiculous if the airforce were barred from saving stranded people in a tsunami for instance. We have no plans to end democracy! |

Message | Did you ever hear of the Red cross? The coast gaurd? Civil Defence? The Fire Brigade? If we have fully trained rescue services the military doesn't need to be involved in rescue operations. |

Message | this is something for really big disasters when the red cross or other organisations don't have enough manpower or need something the army has |

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections. |
Random quote: "Soldiers are not the enemies of the movement. They're potential allies. They're more than that. Soldiers are the only people in America who are paying a stiff price for this war. Everybody else profits. Soldiers are the ones losing their lives, losing friends, having their lives disrupted. The real victims of American imperialism are its soldiers." - Fred Gardner |
