Details

Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: March 2103
Description[?]:
Recognizing - The national refugee policy in Likatonia is deeply flawed. All refugees are welcomed, regardless of their reason, and given aid in integrating them into the country. Under this policy persecuted individuals are rightly given entry into Likatonia, as are criminals fleeing trial, suspected terrorists, drug dealers etc. Believing- That this is a wrong situation, as genuine refugees fleeing persecution are given the same status as undesirables from other nations. Proposing - that only refugees that are victims of extreme circumstances are welcomed into Likatonia. |

Message | We believe that current security precautions are adequate to prevent infiltration. We respectfully suggest that the Conservative party direct it efforts in that direction rather than try to keep genuine refugees out of Likatonia. |

Message | Genuine refugees will be allowed in. Immigrants fleeing extreme circumstances, ie refugees and asylum seekers, are welcome. These bill however aims to shutdown the open border we have, allowing everyone into our nation. |

Message | We cannot support this restrictive action; only those potential immigrants who can be proven undesirable should be kept out. Innocent until proven guilty should apply here as well as in the courts. |

Message | Once an immigrant is let into this country, they can effectively disappear. We would have no record of them, and through this terrorists or drug dealers could live in our society, without us having the necessary information to deport them. It would be far better to have a stricter system that would prevent any abuse of our hospitality, and protect those who are in genuine need of our help. |

Message | In response to CPL, Would it not be better to issue short-term permits, for example? Such permits could be necessary for access to citizen facilities (like medical care), so it would be in the best interest of the immigrant to keep their permit current - which means the immigrant would constantly update the system, without the system having to track the immigrant. I agree with RLP - keep out PROVED undesirables. Freedom for the innocent. |

Message | This bill does exactly that. It lets the innocent in, whilst keeping proved undesirables out. We are seeking to make it easier for refugees to access our nation. We are also aiming to improve the image of refugees but ensuring that they are not tarnished as potential terrorists and criminals by some of our nations more fascistic individuals. Short term permits work for law abiding refugees, but any immigrant who is part of a crime syndicate would hardly bother with such a device. |
