Messageooc: I am fully aware this will not pass, but I am trying to get my party off "secular" in the values grid, since it's supposed to be a religious party!

MessageI will support this bill even though my votes don't matter yet. As long as freedom of religion is still intact Islam could be our official religion.

MessageWe have freedom of religion. Having a "State" religion is restricting this freedom.

MessageNope. Just forgetting that to government is putting a golden star next to "Islam" and saying "Islam represents us. We have other religions, but they're not worth as much." And thats wrong.

MessageOne can argue that the only point of a state religion is to point out that our nation is predominantly Islam. It has nothing to do with ranking of religion it is simply a statistic.

MessageWe cannot give this bill a thought, it would give preferential treatment over say Jewish sects or Uniates for example. This could lead into discrimination. We like the status quo for now (banning of cults such as Scientology or Heaven's Gate).

MessageWe agree with AAP, DN and PSP. No need for religion to interfere with the state. However people should be able to practise religion freely as long as it doesnt inflict damage to other people.
