Message | "We accept that, while Sekowo maintains its illegal settlements on Squibble, our forces must remain in place, and the scope of our original mission must change. However we feel that attempting to establish a central government will ultimately create tension between the different towns and tribes, given its size, and ultimately create more problems for ourselves. Attempting to interfere with the political structure can only create problems for now. We feel right now it is better to focus on improving Squibbles economic situation, by sharing our technology and education with them, as well as providing humanitarian aid to struggling areas. We would not object to having an official, to be nominated by the Naczelnik Nasi and approved by the Sanhedrin, to be responsible for this operation." -Itamar Eitam |

Message | OOC: Sorry to clutter this up, but I just wanted to ask what the whole situation with Squibble and Sekowo is, and how it came to be? |

Message | OOC: No problem. Basically we started discussing Operation Homeland Expansion (http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=140749) whereby we, claiming ancestry from the native population, would move in and explore Squibble (the roughly circular continent with no countries on it on the world map), and establish trade routes and diplomacy with any nation states...possibly a few worse things if the idea hadnt been interrupted. However Sekowo, upon hearing of our plans, decided to colonise Tropica, the island adjacent to the continent, and began sending colonisers there. We claimed Tropica is part of Squibble, and, more importantly, their settlements are an invasion of the natives land, that their industry is raping the land, and any of the native populace that was organised into clans has been forced out their homes and forced to flee or be murdered, to stop any resistance. Thus Operation Homeland expansion changed to a mission of liberation. For a while there were negotiations, but they've come to a standstill. There was discussion of RPing a war, but since none of us really know much about military it might be difficult to do. |

Message | OOC: Actually I had already been debating on seeking the colonization of Tropica before I knew about operation homeland expansion, we just had the same idea more or less at the same time. |

Message | OOC: ok, sorry, i thought i remembered operation homeland expansion being mentioned in the bill description for the colonisation of tropica but I guess i was mistaken |

Message | Sending an ambassador to a place without a unified government would simply imply that we favor those clans with which we are meeting at any given time, causing additional rifts in the local population and furthering the disunity of the populace. |

Message | OOC: No, you're not mistaken, it was mentioned in it. I was actually gonna wait a little more before proposing the colonization, but I was checking out Beiteynu's bills and happened to notice it, so I fast tracked my decision. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
