Bill: Private Defense Industry Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Al'Badara Republican Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: October 2471
Description[?]:
This bill allows private defense industries to be allowed into our military marketplace. This would allow better quality warships, fighter planes and military vehicles and allow competition. While other countries on our planet have Lockheed-Martin, Boeing or Bombardier products, our military tends to have inferior products. Not only would we allow foreign markets for defense needs which could allow for extremely powerful and agile military vehicles but it would give us a coup on military intelligence! |

Message | ... I personally hate the idea. To think that somebody besides the government would oversee the military? It's crazy! Private, rich, citizens could control our nation. Do you know what most rich citizens want? More money! The citizens that would take adavnatage of this bill do not care for our people, they care only for themselves! The MDP is against this bill. |

Message | This has nothing to do with a private or paramilitary force but rather the fact that private defense companies can tender contracts to build military vehicles or weapons. |

Message | The PSP has no interest in allowing the military-industrial complex to encroach on Al'Badara. Our defence industry should be maintained and controlled in the interests of the state, not for profit. |
