Message | We support, as soon as you take 'i' out of 'worker's' in the bill title. All workers need rights, where-ever they work, and we feel this is definitely a positive step. |
Date | 17:25:10, August 20, 2005 CET | From | Capitalist Party | To | Debating the Workers' Right to Strike |
Message | Nope. Against, strikes are a infringement on the free market, we allow them because we respect civil rights. However, in certain areas like the Police, Army and other vital services the right to strike must not be allowed. |
Date | 22:18:22, August 20, 2005 CET | From | Liberty Party | To | Debating the Workers' Right to Strike |
Message | All people have equal rights and the government should be able to circumvent them simply by declaring a particular job 'critical to society'. Moreover, practical experience has shown us time and again that when these people strike, they can quickly be replaced. However, while the party acknowledges that workers have the right to strike, by which we mean they specifically cannot be physically forced to work or made subject to criminal sanctions, the right to strike does not excuse individuals from their responsibilities arising from freely-entered contracts. The moment that any individual goes on strike, the employer immediately has the right to terminate the employee for breach of contract, and rehire a replacement. Therefore we will support this bill |

Random quote: "The European Union and environmental advocacy groups use global warming hysteria to advance their own special agendas. The European Union recognizes any significant reduction in CO2 emissions by the United States will significantly reduce its economic output, thereby bringing it closer to the inferior output of European nations. Environmental advocacy groups work to stifle economic and industrial progress wherever they find it to inhibit the successful advancement of peoples in developing nations, inevitably making mankind a second class citizen of planet Earth." - Dr. Jay Lehr |
