Bill: NJRP Balanced Cabinet Proposal of April 2472

Details

Submitted by[?]: Jakanian Imperial Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: March 2473

Description[?]:

Proposing a Cabinet for the new WWF administration.

Unlike the NSPJ or the WWF with their liberal and conservative cabinets, as a party with no seats, we propose a fair equality in the cabinet based percentage of seats each party has in the General Assembly. As you can see, we did not include ourselves in it. We wish feedback and this a cabinet proposal based on neutrality. Revisions to each parties 'wish list' will be strongly pursued to assure complete happiness. As an active member of the General Assembly, we are horrified by the cutthroat tactics pursued by both conservative and liberal members. Although, we are a party conservative by ideology, cabinets are a way to balance the playing field of politics. We are displeased especially by the socialistic and liberal member by loading up the cabinet through a spoils system, but we can't say anything better with our conservative members.
-Rob Suthers, NJRP Assemblyman

MessageWe wish to see that we're all in this together and not serving our own selfish political interests. As it already seems the NSPJ cabinet proposal passed, we consider bias cabinets due to political ideology as stupid and have a see-saw effect on this country.

We are pleased that the WWF members of the Assembly agreed with our standpoint.

However, these positions are not confirmed positions, as parties, you may express a wish list. If there is a two or more parties wanting like a position like Foreign Minister, you're going to make a point and show off your candidate's strengths.

Our basis of choosing cabinet positions is based by experience, with the PM automatically going to the largest majority party. We prefer that such important positions in the cabinet should not be rocked with sudden party change and the possibility of change is through the emerging party like the NSPJ staying strong in the next election. While the WWF has head of state, it still needs some powerful cabinet positions such as Finance and Defense, both are suitable to them. The SLP, has long experienced the position of Foreign Affairs and we recognize that a continuation of strong foreign policy via the SLP and Health and Social Services is another strong suit in favor of the SLP. We know that most position are not interactive, but we guess you could roleplay like we did with the Interstate Highways Act of 2247 using the minister of Infrastructure and Transport.

MessageWhy should all parties be represented in the cabinet anyway? That's not how it works in real life.

MessageWell, if your gonna start with the real life deal, we might as well abolish every party proposing a cabinet for it should by only set up always the largest party in corporation of the party with the head of state. Their is no need to be politically cutthroat like it is in real life. Besides, this is Jakinia, traditional methods of politics has never really been followed.

MessageWhy should all parties should be represented in the cabinet? That's because its been the way Jakinia has done most cabinet proposals in the past, only on a few occasions that some parties weren't involved in balanced cabinet positions.

We could start naming the times a balanced proposals, the NJRP has listed balanced or at least nearly balanced cabinets off the first 10 pages of the bill list. So there you go SRP, members of Jakinia's General Assembly have set a general precedent on this issue.

MessageIn reference to the NSPJ, "Gov. vs opposition" if there is anyone who should be controlled how cabinets are formed should be the party with the head of state or the largest party, while the NSPJ is the second largest has no right to ax out moderately powerful parties like the WWF and SLP. Although we have our differences, respect on cabinet formation is necessary to effective government.

Random fact: Party candidates for head of state elections are not visible to the public. This means that you cannot see who will run and who will not, which adds another strategic element to the elections.

Random quote: "I have come to the conclusion that politics are too serious a matter to be left to the politicians." - Charles de Gaulle
