Bill: The Wholesome Family Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: The Family First Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2473
Description[?]:
The Family First Party would like to propose that only heterosexual couples be allowed to adopt children. The reasons for this are as follows: Firstly, children cannot be provided with an adequate and healthy upbringing if they are not raised by one man and one woman, with a balanced influence of both feminine and masculine elements. If children are raised by two members of the same sex, their influence is imbalanced, and they will inevitably grow up to be awkward within other members of their gender, and possibly misfits. There is also a high chance that they will turn out to be homosexual themselves, as their parents have, whether conciously or not, asserted some measure of their own life choice and their own predispositions on their child, which is natural for all parents. This will inevitably increase the number of homosexuals in our society, and further deteriorate the traditional family unit - the core and the heart of our society and its values. This is not something that the Family First Party wants to allow. Secondly, the adopted child's unusual family circumstances may well lead to bullying in school, which will further damage the child's childhood, and effect their later lives also. They may become depressed, angry, and insecure as young adults. This is not something that the Family First Party wants to allow. The well-being of every one of this nation's children is of utmost importance to the Family First Party. It is hard enough for many adopted children to cope when they find out that they have been adopted, but it is harder still to cope when they look at every other family, noticing that their family is different, and ask their same-sex foster parents why they don't have a family like that. The Family First Party will not stand for this. If other parties value the well-being of this nation's children, vote yes for The Wholesome Family Act. |
