Bill: TCA Speech, May 2476

Details

Submitted by[?]: Telamonese Cultural Alliance

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2477

Description[?]:

Greetings to The Good Members of the Commonwealth Congress, to Their Justices the Several Ministers, to His Honor the Minister-General, and His Valor, the Protector of the Commonwealth of Telamon from the Telamonese Cultural Alliance.

The TCA has dropped out of politics, likely for good. The reasons for this are complex and have to do with the change of mission from promoting our agenda in the Congress to attempting to Telamonise the waves of immigrants inundating the cantons thanks to the brilliant immigration policies of the SDPT and the rest of the socialist bloc. We, however, retain, by virtue of our former status as registered political party, a non-voting voice in the Congress.

I stand before you to deliver a message: the course our beloved Commonwealth has embarked upon are wrongheaded in the extreme. With balooning budget deficits, decreasing economic liberty, and the aforementioned teeming masses, the Telamonese nation is crying out for justice and restoration of the Phoenix Age, that all-too-brief interlude between the darkness of the Ecclesial War and the plunging despair of the New Socialist Era. When the Ecclesial War was concluded, we lifted up our voices to Almighty God to pray for a Telamon we could be proud of, a leader in the region both morally and financially. Instead, the Telamonese people have been presented with choices between ever-so-slightly different brands of socialism, to say nothing of the slavering barbarism of RAPE. It strikes a nostalgic chord, now, to think of the excesses of the SHP back in the post-Communist era.

We plead, therefore, to this august body to think of the future our children will inherit. Will it be one of dreary, amoral socialism, or will the country find its moral backbone and restore the ancient freedoms once again? It is symbolic that this congress is about to pass a bill which, instead of exhorting our people to look forward to a Future of Gold, instead merely reminds them to go Onward.

As an NGO without any constituency in the congress, it is unlikely that this speech will have any effect, but we will plead anyways, lest they say in a hundred years that we kept our silence.

PS: Money please. We need money to fund our educational operations.

MessageRather ridiculous banter. The SDPT and the socialist alliance are committed to responsible liberty, as well as public morality and social justice. There is nothing incompatible in those goals, and the TCA should be congratulating us instead of condemning us.

MessageWe at the RAPE party bid the TCA a fine farewell, though we take some issue with the "slavering barbarism" remark. Best wishes, and perhaps you will return to politics when we reach a more civilized era.
