Message | "Those not in the financial situation too waste electricity should use it sparingly. The genuinely poor will be catered to by private charity, friends and family, things which socialism tends to forget." ~Grace Alter, Directory Member |

Message | And the thing that politicians in high office seem to forget is that it's not just one person that's poor in those areas, it's a whole community. If you're not willing to help those people who elected you, are you truly a representative of them? |

Message | So is the Rald Party for or against? Too many people are poor for economic reasons in their community, rather than through their own choice. These people still need heating and refrigerators. Without these we're putting their health at serious risk. |

Message | "While we support aid for poor people in general, we cannot agree to this law for one reason: We think this can lead to a widespread abuse when non-poor people will use the electricity of the poor, or poor people lease their power outlets to others." |

Message | Yes there is a possibility of this happening, HOWEVER I firmly believe that this is not going to be 'widespread' abuse, it will be very minimal. The advantages of this bill will far outweight the disadvatages. This is why voting against it would be a mistake. |

Message | "Yes, we'd be inclined to agree with the argument of poor communities creating poor people. It wasn't always that way though. Welfare and the public sector has turned people in members of collectives, dependent on each other and social welfare. The Liberty Party firmly believes in individualism. This bill has no place in our future for Zardugal." ~Grace Alter |
Date | 01:44:13, November 04, 2007 CET | From | Democratic Party | To | Debating the Energy Regulation - Help the poor |
Message | This is one place where I have to disagree with the liberty party and I vote yes on this bill. Providing electricity to the poor allows them to progress further in society |

Message | "I don't see how making them dependent on social welfare allows them to progress, but I respect your opinion none the less." ~Grace Alter |

Random fact: Players who consent to a particular role-play by acknowledging it in their own role-play cannot then disown it or withdraw their consent from it. For example, if player A role-plays the assassination of player B's character, and player B then acknowledges the assassination in a news post, but then backtracks and insists the assassination did not happen, then he will be required under the rules to accept the validity of the assassination role-play. |
