Bill: Renaming Sudallo (Region)

Details

Submitted by[?]: 3wide.com Antiparticulates

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: December 2038

Description[?]:

As the primary representatives of the Region of Sudallo, we would like to bring forth a proposal by the people of the Region, to restore the regions name to it's historical origins. The Region was renamed "Sudallo" when claimed by travelling forces from lands afar, and this name had unfortunately stuck when Tukarali was formed, despite cries from the people. At this time, the people were told that the forming of a government was more important than a name. But now, the government is in place, and the people have once again spoken up.

The people of the region now known as Sudallo would emphatically profess that their heritage be reflected in re-naming the region to "Morata Valley". The Morata Tribe and it's lineage still occupy over 60% of the land in this area between the great mountains, and over half of the immigrant population into the region has also shown no objection to the name change, leaving known support for the name change somewhere around 85% in favor. Any opposal to this could see violence break out in the region, and even a possible cessation, which would be disasterous to the Tukaralian Economy. We urge support from all parties on this matter.

MessageRepublicans, this is not the renaming of the country, this is the renaming of one of the regions.

MessageThis is renaming of a region yes. I still don't want the region to be renamed.

MessageYou only cared enough to get 11% of support in this region. How do you expect to ever gain support of these people if you deny them something as simple as the name of their ancestors?

MessageI just believe in keeping the name the way it is. Sometimes you have to do what is unpopular.

MessageSounds like a fair case. Although the technical requirements prevent the actual implementation of the name on official reports, the SDP is happy to support the bill as it stands.
