MessageIt seemed to me that we already spent enough to be a militaristic state. What arbitrary number must we go to in order to fight this war? Is 1/3 of our total federal spending insufficient to maintain a standing army capable of going to war? I'm afraid, that without more evidence of the necessity of this action, I cannot support further taxation and spending.

MessageThese is a specific wartime spending plan to release a SURPLUS to the MoD. Why sit on billions of pounds while our soldiers are killed due to equipment inadequacies?

We do, however, realise that having no surplus at all would be unwise and so propose to replace it by simply rationalising a tax that is, quite bizzarely, paid on some items and not others.
