Bill: Socialist Economic Proposal 2479
Details
Submitted by[?]: Kapitalist-Arbeitsfamilien Partei
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2480
Description[?]:
The AM Democratic Workers' Party & The Capitalist Working Families Party UNITE in the Spirit of Likatonian BROTHERHOOD to propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Axis Mundi Likatonian Res Publica. This budgetary amendment sees dramatic increase in most departments, and sees the Finance department receive an equal budget to Internal Affairs in order to help prevent another Depression. Investment in Trade and Industry has nearly doubled, again a measure to keep the economy out of the red. The only budget that has been cut is that of Justice, whose slight cut is of little significance, but allows for the increased spending in the Ministry of Defence. A healthy emergency reservoir of a little over 7,200,000,000 LIK has been set aside during the transition period of the new budget, in order to allow rapid action to act against any potential economic crises. In addition to greatly expanding the size and scope of the Federal Government to provide universal healthcare, education, and etc. for ALL, this bill is amended to abolish the draconian Corporate Tax on the profits that the Democratic WORKER Councils' have to pay since they own 50% of the industry [the State owns the other 50%]. Therefore, it can be logically and reasonbly concluded that the Corporate Tax in LIKATONIA is a REGRESSIVE tax on the poor and working class. Thank you for your full support. Cordially, Dr. Fiona C. Maclachlan, Minister of Finance of the Axis Mundi Likatonian Res Publica & Chief Economist of the Pigou Club |

Message | This proposal is nothing short of PLAGIARISM and is distasteful to title it socialist, as its tax cuts on corporations clearly are not. Furthermore, how will the budget be afforded without the tax from corporations? This would *definitely* see a return of the Depression the DWP only recently pulled the country out from. |

Message | (1) Even what the passage of this ~256 Billion LIK Federal budget, the Nation will still have a SURPLUS of ~7 Billion LIK; (2) If we ABOLISHED the Corporate Tax, Government will ONLY lose ~13 Billion in Revenue; (3) If we do our Math, that means the country would post a budget gap of ONLY ~6 Billion LIK. (4) However, if CUT taxes that will encourage MORE investment and job creation in the economy thus bringing in HIGHER tax revenue (common sense). (5) Nevertheless, if the Convocation doesn't want to take the "risk" of a little ~6 Billion LIK deficit---[when we actually LIVED under a ~150 Billion deficit for over 10 years]---, all we have to do is RAISE the Luxury Tax like 5-10 percentage points from 30% to 35%. In fact, the Luxury Tax brings MORE revenue than the corporate tax and income tax combined (inherently speaking). cf. http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/budget.php?nationid=17 |

Message | We see no logical reason to remove the taxation on corporate profits... but we like the spending in other areas and can try to reverse the bad legislation later. We shall support at this juncture. |

Message | We call upon the AMSuDP to look objectively at this piece of legislation, and then at the ORIGINAL proposed budget of the DWP; clearly it is our budget that you like, as it is this exact same budget without the primitive take on corporation tax. |

Message | We agree with the AM DWP. The budget is the worthy part, but we can stomach the CWFP abomination of corporate golden-handshakes, until we can actually serve the people by reversing such regressive corpocratic gestures. |

Message | AMSuDP, how is the corporate tax a "regressive tax" when there are NO RICH PEOPLE that actually own corporations??? Check the laws: industry is EITHER owned by the STATE (socialism) or WORKER concils (Marksism). |
Date | 01:19:14, November 05, 2007 CET | From | Commonwealth Workers Army | To | Debating the Socialist Economic Proposal 2479 |
Message | We didn't say anything about 'regressive taxes'. We suggested that the CWFP approach of pandering to the LIK was regressive. |
