Bill: United Jakanian Peace Keeping Force Deployment and Reauthorization
Details
Submitted by[?]: Jakanian Imperial Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: December 2480
Description[?]:
Now that the use of deployment has been pretty much passed, now we come to the numbers. The WWF has suggested an infantry force between 150,000 to 200,000. We suggest the same due to the large force by both sides. The NJRP suggests these things to be sent. - 100,000 to 125,000 regular troops - 100,000 to 75,000 reserve troops - one carrier task force, support role only, maybe some air patrols if authorized - 500 - 1,000 light armored humvees, jeeps, etc. - Medium Armored Division - Rapid Construction Unit - 1,000 men - 20 bulldozers - variety of construction equipment and materials to build our base of operations - Units of the 4th Airlift/Transport Division - Some of United Jakanian Tanker Units - Light Helicopter Division - Medivac Units and airborne medic units - Transport/Supply vehicle divisions * Note: We shall not be alone in our task, the foreign minister has petition many government all over Terra to help us. Cobura is discussing to send peacekeepers as well. Those are our suggestions, we wish that the WWF Defense Minister to elaborate on what is being sent. George Falco will keep the Defense Minister informed on the what can or cannot not happen. Voting will be starting, in your messages state yay or nay. |

Message | What about here? That Jakania/Solentia crisis? That's over now. Be specific UJDP. The peace keeping force being sent is only a small fraction of our total number stuff of all of armed forces. With a defense budget so big. We should have a total army of like 800,000 to 900,000 regular troops and 1.2 to 1.5 million reserves. We should have at least 10 armored divisions. 5 aircraft carriers and support units for each one of them. We have had a large defense budget for a long time. As for cost: Maybe looking at $30-50 billion JAK for 2 years of operations. Could be higher if things go sour. |

Message | George Falco, Will the legislature of United Jakinia kill all the hard work I have done to end the conflict in the area and both sides are depending us to send peacekeepers and also the international community, where some nations are expressing interest in joining us. |

Message | We say, the Pontesi are quite a hard bunch to wheel and deal with. I say we should send a second carrier task force to the region. |

Message | The outline provided by the NJRP is very good, and almost exactly what the Department of Defense had in mind. We would like to supply a 200-400 man medic unit from our United Land Forces to support both our men, and for the humanitarian aid abroad; as well as 15 armored personnel carriers (APCs) for general military use. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Armoured_personnel_carrier Is this sufficient? - Sgt Slaughter |

Message | To all those parties that do not share an interest in a peace keeping mission.. Keep this in mind : We have grown from having a small defense force to a pretty substantial army. We have active soldiers that haven't seen anything outside of their own borders for their entire service, and are restless to boot. This would be a great exercise for our men and a great morale booster for our country as a whole. The experience in a live mission would be invaluable to our forces and would help with any future military actions at home or abroad. |

Message | That is pretty sufficient. The WWF is right, having $30 to 40 billion JAK defense budget for almost 100 years, that equals to about 3000 to 4000 billion JAK invested. No human lives should be lost in this mission. I worked hard on this, the last thing I need now is that people slam it down now. If you didn't support what I was doing, you should have said something then, now its too dang late. United Jakania has given its word, and we are going through with it. |

Message | The deployment of troops to the region has not passed. It failed, by 2 votes. If this bill passes while the previous one didn't, this one, being newer, should probably take precedence. Incidentally, we vote no, both on this and the previous one, due to our strong non-interventionist foreign policy. (Though I approve of the role-playing, I find it truly excellent, though I don't have much time to join in.) Anyway, if this resolution does wind up passing, both Head of Government Claire Admetus and Minister of Finance Ron Nota will sign off on it. The party may oppose overseas military action, but Mrs. Admetus and Mr. Nota hold their positions solely to carry out the will of the Supreme Council, and will perform their duties to the best of their abilities no matter what their personal feelings. |

Message | OOC: SLP is correct according to The Rildanor Accord of International Conflict Regulation (This is widely accepted in Particracy) a)i)"A Nation's Army can only be deployed by a 50% majority proposal, including the support of the Minister of Defence, the Minister for Foreign Relations to permit their declaration of and spending for war, as well as the HoG's approval and HoS's approval if they are elected." So we have a problem here now. |

Message | "The SRP does not support a peace-keeping mission. This is a regional affair that we should not become entangled with. All there is to be gained is resentment against our government and nation. "We applaud the NJRP for their interest in what is obviously a distressing matter for all involved, but we simply cannot approve intervention on an issue which doesn't affect Jakania directly." Frederick Trebscott, SRP spokesman for Foreign Affairs. |

Message | I'm disappointed in United Jakania's Supreme Council. We had intense discussion from both sides and almost laid down a cease-fire. We called among the international community to help our peacekeepers in any way. It may not affect us today, but we already have stamped our name in the area. |

Message | There is plenty to be gained in this mission, of course, the SRP is a bit short-sighted on this, because it hasn't been long enough to study what happened. In resolving this conflict could bring these things: 1. Future MCTO members, both have expressed interest. 2. International prestige for ending their conflict 3. Make United Jakania a well-known active member of the international community 4. Future relations to these two countries in form of economics, cultural, and educational 5. To show that our Supreme Council does not kill the hard work and time of RL people and the current Foreign Minister 6. A chance to gauge our military in action, in a peaceful way, of course 7. To stand by the MCTO in its promotion of peace, security, and well-being throughout Majatra This conflict does affect us, foreign policy is hard to keep non-intervention, we got Cobura committing 80,000 peacekeepers with us, I have petitioned over a dozen to 20 different countries throughout Terra to help us either through peacekeeper and/or humanitarian aid. Some might support us. This my friends, is the biggest thing organized by Jakania ever. I committed to seeing an end to this, the weak spine of some in the Supreme Council is fearing non-existent threats or dangers. And yes there are cons: 1. The nations of Beiteynu and Pontesian Commonwealth come to hate us. Unlikely because we had a high level of communication with them both. 2. The whole plan fails, its always has been a danger 3. The peace conference fails, its just like number 2 4. We get caught in the crossfire of a breach of ceasefire, with current commitments of our 75,000 and Coubrans 80,000 and the possibility of more from the international community, we could stave off a renewed war. 5. What about Deltaria? We got enough troops to defend ourselves and send peacekeepers. Just a reminder, nearly all of the population is serving in the military or reserves by law. 6. What about internal conflict? I don't see one, so if there is, then show it to me. 7. We are going in by ourselves! That is not true, if you look around instead of sit on our nation's homepage, plenty of nations are considering the thought of joining us. There you have it, the pros and cons of this, I have rebutted the cons, for I see the pros are mainly long-term and your fears as short-term going to pass deals. |

Message | "I too, am very disappointed in the Council. To my knowledge, Jakania has done the most work in attempting to sort this out, now, when the big important part of deploying some Peacekeeping forces comes, you all back down. If you didn't want to deploy forces there, why didn't you say something earlier? When this was in its early stages of development. We look like fools now. My faith in the other parties has never been so low" Supreme Governor Jacob Kotowski IV |
