Bill: Welfare Debate
Details
Submitted by[?]: Parti de Garde Royales
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2483
Description[?]:
The OGP would like to discuss some welfare options. We have no problems with our current pension system, but it seems a waste of money to pull it over people, when we can make it optional. If people wish to recieve pension from the state, they can just sign up. People should be treated equally, and this law will not change that - it will simply release some state funds. And the OGP suggest we spend these funds on securing a minimum income for unemployed adults. However, this form of payment should not extend to more than 5 years. This is enough time to either get an education or get ones life back in order, also one could become a volunteer somewhere, which would look great on a resume later on. Of course, some will take advantage of this, therefore we suggest that only people having had an income prior to applying for this benefit are qualified. Sen. Darius Sweet |
