Bill: Lokitogorska's Fiscal Review of February 2481

Details

Submitted by[?]: Democratic Workers' Party and CTUL List

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill proposes to change the allocation of funds in the budget. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2481

Description[?]:

The AM Democratic Workers' Party propose to adjust the government's spending budget to better address the economic and social situation of the Axis Mundi Likatonian Res Publica.

Former DWP-leader Anja Lokitogorska, Minister of Finance, addresses convocation, "Following the CWFP's detrimental slashing of corporation tax, even with a 99% tax on Corporation profits, the governmental budget falls ~13bn LIK short of that harvested by the pre-tax cut economy. Recognising this foul up in the economy, the budget must be cut accordingly to allow the economy to recooperate. The department whose budget could best absorb the shock is that of the Justice department, as reflected in the proposal."

Government spending currently leaves the economy 5,370,513,135 LIK in the red: the exact figure subtracted from the Justice budget.

Random fact: Cabinet ministers who disagree seriously with the head of government would usually be expected to resign. Parties within the cabinet may attempt to manoeuvre to replace the head of government though, for example by proposing a new cabinet bill or voting for an early election.

Random quote: "[The Constitution preserves] the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation...[where] the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms." - James Madison
