Message | "We would encourage the Democratic Party to move for the outlawing of forced nationalism all together, if they were to secure my Party's vote." ~Derror Crius, LP CM |
Date | 14:41:13, November 07, 2007 CET | From | Irish Party | To | Debating the National Anthem |
Message | We agree with this bill. I don't think it's too hard to ask people to show respect during a national anthem. It's what would be expected if it was another country's anthem that was playing. |

Message | We would agree with the Liberty Party. Why force children to do anything at all? Encouragement is fine, but forced nationalism is worse than none at all. |

Message | OOC: I'd rather making them sing, and "making" is a very broad word when dealing with children, on Zardugal Day or whatever :P This is still forcing nationalism. |

Message | It's not forced nationalism....in my opinion. There is nothing wrong with asking for a bit of respect when a country's national anthem is being played, no matter if it's your own country or someone else's. |
Date | 06:59:23, November 09, 2007 CET | From | Liberty Party | To | Debating the National Anthem |
Message | "Exposing children to the national anthem every day, being made to stop talking, stand up straight, even put their hand on their hearts....familiarity breeds contempt. The LP wants children to think of our anthem as something special, not a boring relic of their school days." ~Derror Crius, Protector-General of Zardugal |

Random fact: Did you know you can change the official name of your nation? All you need to do is draw up a new name that is in accordance with the Nation Renaming Guide, pass a bill proposing the name change with a two-thirds majority and then post a request to Moderation on the "Renaming Requests" thread. You can change city and region names in this way too. |
