Message | Wow - another really bad idea. How can anyone support this? We are going to create a state where it is legal to be a prostitute one side of a certain street, but illegal on the other? Is anyone in any real doubt what will happen? Can we really not see the sting operations that will entrap people who are doing a job that is perfectly legal just a few feet away? Can we really not see that (especially without governmental protection) we are opening the market up to kidnapping and sex-slavery? We denounce anyone who supported this evil agenda. Shame. |

Message | We agree to a certain extent with the AMSuDP, but see this as a step in the direction of recognition of the fact that public service industries are no different; no matter what the service may be. |

Message | The problem with that is - they ARE different. And this particular one is much more likely to degenerate into sex-slavery, kidnapping, paedophilia and a host of other horrible problems, than allowing - for example - valet attendants to only park some cars. |

Message | There are particular potential abuses inherent in this industry, that is true. On the other hand, your valet parking business is much more likely to turn into a nest of car thieves than would follow from allowing a person to give a bit of pleasure to another human being, and receive just payment for the service, on his or her own behalf rather than a state monopoly. |

Message | Come now, we all know that isn't true. Most valets are limited to a specific geography anyway - there's just no market for their 'busniess' outside of those parameters. Unfortunately, there are always people who want sex - especially illicit or illegal practises, that will take advantage of any law that 'outlaws' prostitution, even slightly. Prostitution needs to be treated different to just about every other service industry, because it IS different. |
