Message | As far as we in the AM SuDP can see, consistency has never been an obstacle for the CWFP. |

Message | DWP, there is absolutely NOTHING "inconsistent" with our beliefs. We are VIGOROUSLY opposed--and still is--against a mandatory civilian or military service and prohibiting the FORCE of Government to nullify people's freedom and choices. However, those that are in prison that were DULY CONVICTED "beyond a reasonable doubt" by a Jury of their peers of harming the General Welfare via some criminal act OWE a DEBT to society. Therefore, it is only reasonable that they render their labor to compensate for the damage done to society. In fact, the VICTIM of the crime committed [rape, murder, theft of priceless object] could NEVER be fully compensate for the emotional "pain & suffering." |

Message | Wow... the CWFP equates theft with murder... everything wrong with capitalism, all wrapped up in one small package. |

Message | Criminals are the product of a society. Society owes itself (including the criminals) to help them reform. Society is the perpetrator of the crime, always. "A society gets all the criminals it deserves." Forced labour will not help rehabilitate criminals. It will only make them more bitter and set in their ways. If there is to be any point in having a justice system at all, it has to be rehabilitating in nature. |

Message | We agree the points made by the AMDWP have value, however crime should have a punishment. We would be happy to support a revised Bill, making work mandatory, but laying out options for the types of work given, and adding a mandatory minimum wage (although we would like to see a proportion of this go to the victims of any crimes committed). |
