Bill: Impeach The Traitors!

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill requests an early election. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline. Elections will be held immediately if the bill passes.

Voting deadline: June 2484

Description[?]:

BECAUSE: 516 of the Convocation members have voted that it be so, and

BECAUSE: Only one party (The ACP) abstained, and

BECAUSE: Only the DWP voted against (casting 150 to refuse), and

BECAUSE: The CWFP themselves were among the parties to agree.

We have no choice but to insist:

The CWFP are hereby declared Traitors to the Crown, as per the will of the Convocation.

Further - they are to be stripped of all official holdings and titles immediately.

MessageOOC:

We assume that the CWFP will honour the will of the convocation by NOT placing a candidate for election to Head of State in the emergency elections. For preference, they should not endorse a party either - since they have been declared traitors.

We assume all other parties will immediately support this emergency election, in the wake of the decision to brand the CWFP traitors.

MessageWe will of course support this motion, despite having previously voting against the bill (though not for the clause pursued here). We hope, too, that the new elections will bring the DWP better proportional representation in Convocation - having received fewer seats last election than the NKP, DESPITE having received nearly 100,000 more votes.

The Socialist are just simply SORE-LOSERS b/c the Likatonian people enjoying this new thing they see as.....I don't know.....FREEDOM(haha)!!!!!

OOC: The CWFP will are Law-abiding citizens and will obey ALL laws, BUT since this is a true DEMOCRACY, will still nominate a candidate and let the GOOD PEOPLE of Likatonia decide whether we are "traitors" or not to the Republic(haha)!!!

What are you talking about??? NEWSFLASH: our party's candidate (Christian E. Savage of the CWFP) beat your candidate for the Presidency (Emissary) in a LANDSLIDE, twice consecutively.

Our conservative allies in the NKP party won MORE legislative seats than you. Check the election results!!!

MessageBringing this to the vote...

OOC: The CWFP intends to run a candidate anyway? Despite the fact that the Convocation voted overwhelmingly to brand the CWFP traitors and strip them of all assets and titles? That's a shame - that means the CWFP doesn't feel the need to be bound by the rules as devised by their own nation.

I reiterate - 516 votes - 6 of 8 parties, including the CWFP THEMSELVES, voted to brand the CWFP traitors and strip them of assets and titles. There is nothing 'non-democratic' or 'sore-loser' about it - the vote was taken, the parties supported, including the CWFP.

If there is a sore loser... well, it MUST be the party that voted for the Impeachment, but intends to not honour in the breach, no?

I voted for NO SUCH BILL!!!!

All I said was that WHO CARES if my political opponents brand us as "traitors" b/c if we were REALLY "traitors" as the Convocation contends, then wouldn't that mean that our party would lose seats in a LANDSLIDE??? Nevertheless, if the PEOPLE vote us a traitors, we will respect the people's wishes and leave in exile.

I apologize, I made a mistake. I DID vote for that bill and I do indeed intend on wholeheartedly RESPECTING this noble institution of the Convocation. Unfortunately, however, I cannot in good faith obey the resolution and/or contract b/c the language used in the contract AUTOMATICALLY NULLIFIES its legality. You are not NOT bound to obey a contract if the provisions in the contract are ILLEGAL (e.g. selling substances such as cocaine that is deemed illegal).

MessageWhere in that bill was there any such language that was nullifies the legality of the bill? We see none.

NEWSFLASH: National results:
Party Votes Votes (%) Seats Seats (%)
New Konservative Party 24,658,940 22.34% 151 22.67%
AM Democratic Workers' Party 24,756,747 22.43% 150 22.52%

The DWP received nearly 1% more votes than the NKP and received one less seat.

NEWSFLASH: The CWFP can hardly claim they won a landslide victory in the Head of State elections when they came *second* in the first round.

It was not stated that the people wished the CWFP to "leave in exile", but it was the will of the Convocation (including the CWFP) that the CWFP be branded as traitors (which seems fair - the CWFP have threatened such illegal acts as smuggling in foreign cultists) and strip of titles.

The CWFP can now be considered a 'shadow' party - until (if?) their good name is restored, at least.

DWP, in the last Presidential election (before the most recent one), we beat you in a LANDSLIDE in the second round when it was just YOU & US!!!

Did anyone READ my comments to the "Whiteflag Bill"??? The language that the Drang Party used NULLIFIED it. READ my comments before you comment.
