Bill: Impeachment Emergency Interim Cabinet (2483)

Details

Submitted by[?]: Commonwealth Workers Army

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill presents the formation of a cabinet. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. Traditionally, parties in the proposal vote yes, others (the opposition) vote no. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in and all parties in the proposal have voted yes, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: August 2484

Description[?]:

In the wake of the Articles of Impeachment, we suggest a true Unity cabinet of all sanctioned Likatonian parties.

Preference has been given to DWP and NKP, joint largest parties.

Ummm!! Let me see???

(1) The LFF is the Head of State (Emissary/President)!!!

(2) The DWP & the NKP have the LARGEST share of seats in the Convocation!!!

(3) Yet, the Drang Partie is the First Advocate who chairs the cabinet (Head of Government)???

......and to think, EVERYONE was bamboozled into thinking that the CWFP were the "traitors"(hahaha)!!!

MessageIt unfortunately looks like the AM RLP may be unavailable to confirm this Cabinet. If that should transpire, we shall resubmit, without them - regretfully.

What is the concern that the CWFP has? Is there some place in Likatonian law where it says that the First Advocate MUST be from the same party as the Emissary? Or - from the largest (or in this case - two joint largest... how does one reconcile THAT?) party?

MessageImmeresence Inc. has always felt it appropriate that whichever party supplies the Head of the Cabinet should not supply any other members, allowing them to be a truly neutral Chair.

It would be foolish, then, for the Head of Government to come from the parties with most to give (certainly in popular support terms).

MessageThat is a very valid point. The Am SuDP has another reason for suggesting Am SuDP candidates for the First Advocacy... our candidates have historically been well represented in the role, and are actually - historically - quite good at it. We may suck at Defence and Finance, but when it comes to putting a fat guy at the head of a table, we're all kinds of qualified.
