Bill: Likatonian Cooperation

Details

Submitted by[?]: Likaton Coalition of the Willing

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2484

Description[?]:

Freddy Nietzsche wrote:

"We have had it with the Kundrati Union. The Fatlange party of the Kundrati Union, without any condemnation by its fellow parties, has firebombed our House of Representatives in a terroristic manner, killing six representatives, globally insulted other nations constantly in their own chambers of legislature, and called many nations, including Barmenistan, its enemies."

We propose the following measures, should the (http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewbill.php?billid=153281) Declaration of War Bill currently in debate in Brmék’oék Nrzipntakmojad be successful:

1. That the Axis Mundi Likatonian Res Publica immediately place full economic sanctions against the Kundrati Union

2. That we grant the Barmenistanian military access to Likaton Ports and Airfields during any military campaign.

3. That we provide medical and other non-military aid to the Barmenistani people, both combatant and non-combatant.

4. That the Axis Mundi Likatonian Res Publica reserve the right to provide full military support, pending a further successful resolution.

MessageThe LFF would like the following questions answered before casting a vote.

1. Has the foreign ministry actually verified these claims?

2. Is there any way to be sure this was unprovoked?

3. Was this approach made to us by an official of the Brmék’oék Nrzipntakmojad government?

We would like some answers prior to casting our vote prior to embarking on military action.

We also point out that the treaty in question does not provide for military assistance, whereas the only binding clause is the acceptance of foreign medical aid. While the LFF is no shrinking violet in the face of war, we feel that Likatonia's needs are best served by a pro-expansionist policy in our immediate region. Likatonia for Likatonians of course, and to hell with other inferior nations.

1. We defer answering this to the Foreign Minister.

2. Our sources indicate that the Kundrati Union is on the verge of Civil War, and fully half the government support the attacks on Bermanistan.

3. The request was made by the Head of State. In turn, he represnts a party which holds three cabinet posts, including Defence.

We do not anticipate military support will be needed, however this Resolution merely clears the floor for that decision to be made, it does not endorse or authorise such action.

MessageSince the 'military' article only requires that we reserve the right... we agree, at this point.

Although, we unequivocally CONDEMN the Kundrati Union for this terrorism, we must remain NEUTRAL and let these nations deal with their own problems. I mean, we have our OWN problems ourselves.

MessageWe thank you for showing friendship and cooperation. We hope the future shall bring us an even closer friendship.

Non-combatant and medical aid to the civilian Barmenistan people will likely be unnecessary; our military is amongst the largest and most trained in the world, so these terrorists in the Kundrati Union should give us no trouble; it is finding them and bringing them to justice that will be the difficult part.

We also ask that your covert agents work together with ours to find the people behind the Fatlange terrorist organization.

MessageSo far, the only votes against this action are the traitor CWFP party. That means 63 of the eligible votes support, no eligible votes oppose, and 31 eligible votes abstain.

That's a two-thirds majority (or supermajority) - more than enough to start planning a response.

We don't believe it is necessary to get involved at this time unless their is a STRATEGIC NATIONAL INTERESTS to the People of Likatonia. We do, however, support economic sanctions.

MessagePerhaps we should consider putting Peacekeepers in both the Kundrati Union and Barmenistan?

MessageIf we can refer the CWFP to the following Treaty:

http://80.237.164.51/particracy/main/viewtreaty.php?treatyid=221 (specifically 3. It is also the declared intent of all parties of this treaty to work in a spirit of co-operation in times of national crisis)

We have had this treaty with the Barmenistani government for nearly a hundred years; it would be a shame if we were not to honour it.

Message/i think talk of Peacekeepers is a little premature. I don't want to abort the idea, but let's let it gestate a little longer, until we see how the issue pans out in Brmék’oék Nrzipntakmojad.

MessageWe feel we should point out to the Immeressence, Inc party members... it really doesn't matter what the exiled CWFP choose to support or oppose. They are not part of our official process, and have no power to represent.

MessageWe were merely putting the idea of peacekeepers on the table. In the interests of stemming conflict. The AM SuDP has no interest in expansionism or military solutions.

MessageWe think the idea of Peacekeepers should be resolved by Prince Klemens Lothar Wenzel Von Metternich and Gen. Zachary Slavack, so let's hold on until they have expressed and opinion (or the Cabinet reshuffle occurs)

MessageWhilst we are quick to condemn the violent aggression of the Kundrati Union, we are naturally reluctant to support any military campaign of any kind. Particularly one where it would seem we are not needed: "[the Barmenistan] military is amongst the largest and most trained in the world."

Our thoughts at this moment in time are with the innocent civilians of all nations involved, as well as the reluctant combatants. And of course our own Likaton soldiers, living in anxious times of potential threat.
