Message | We already recognise the importance of regulating shelf lives of food, and this is right, for food is a common avenue for infection. It only stands to reason that we limit sale to those who can prove that they will safely prepare and store the same food. Should a butcher who admittedly stores meat in the open air at room temperature be allowed to sell that meat, as long as it is still within its shelf life? Of course not. |

Message | That's what food standards are for. You're talking about production now, not the sales of food. And our current food safety policy clearly states "The government introduces, and actively enforces, food standards provisions" |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
