Message | If the DSP would like to look at the individual side instead of the corporate side, we see no reason why a person should pay for his/her neighbor to use public transportation, and that is exactly what this bill would do, allocating taxes paid by everybody to pay for a service that is only used by a few. If our neighbors choose to take public transportation, we would just as soon have them pay for it themselves. USMC: If the industries are used they will expand creating more more supply reducing demand and thereby reducing price. In addition, if the government subsidizes an industry which only a few use to in order to reduce the price, what next? Government subsidies of consumer goods and luxuries? |

Message | Public transport is hardly used by only a few. In fact roughly 40% of the country (based on society and distribution) use it, and the majority of urbanites use it. Indeed those who solely use private transport our in the minority. |
