Bill: Condemnation of the Beluzian War Threat

Details

Submitted by[?]: Neo-Epicurean Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2486

Description[?]:

Some misguided members of the Parliament in our honorable southern neighboring country have been advocating a declaration of war against Rutania. The proposal is not supported by most voters even in Beluzia, and the so-called casi bellorum detailed in the Whig Party's bill are completely fabricated and without grounds, as detailed below:

"Rutania has ever sought to disrupt our nation, through election fixing and espionage."
No such actions have taken place. The Whig Party is attempting to blame their losses at the polls on foreign agitators. Such dishonesty is unworthy of any parliamentarian.

"Long standing border disputes have meant that pure blooded Beluzians have been held against their will by the Rutanian Government."
Delvar has been a Rutanian province for more than five centuries. A recent poll of Delvar residents showed that 86.7 percent considered their nationality to be "Rutanian". Furthermore, with Rutania's open border policy, there is nothing preventing Beluzians from entering or leaving Rutania at any time.

"The scars of war are still present on the border region, the enemy persued a policy of "scorched earth" as a result, much of the land is completely desert. Farmers cannot cultivate the region, and all trees were cut down."
This is a complete fabrication. The last war with Beluzia was fought centuries ago. At least on the Rutanian side of the border, all of the land has returned to fertility. Even the unexploded shells and land mines from the old wars have decayed into harmless mineral deposits in the soil.

"The Rutanians have been found to plunder the ship wrecks of the Beluzian nation which lie in international waters. We mutually accepted that these sites were to be considered "war graves". The dead must be avenged."
Any such actions were undertaken by private citizens. Such actions are still considered criminal in Rutania and are in no way supported by the government.

Please join us in condemning the actions of the rogue parties in Beluzia and re-affirming our good relations with our neighbor.

MessageThis Bill was clearly penned up by Beluzian traitors, as everyone knows Rutanians are illiterate anarchic ne'erdowells of the first order, utterly incapable of any orderly project unless guided by their Beluzian betters.

MessageA stunning display of circular logic from a sadly benighted group of malcontents.

1. Our election returns didn't turn out as well as we expected, it must be because of Rutanian spies.

2. Rutania refuses to give in to our bluster, it must be because of Beluzian traitors.

We feel that this speaks for itself.

MessageThe latest news from the Beluzian Parliament: the declaration of war resolution lost, 390-242. These clowns were even repudiated by their own President and Prime Minister.

Message(ooc- Its just a bit of fun... its been a bit boring of late. Thought we'd have a go at lightening the situation)

Get the facts right, the Prime Minister supported the Declaration. As you rightly said the commie betrayer President did not. We will propose it again after our next election.

MessageOur mistake. We should have said "by their own President and a majority of the voters."

(ooc: I must admit this has been more interesting than the nearly total isolationism that Rutania has been practicing of late.)

Message(ooc: precisely our problem, all we get in Beluzia is people spamming about their lame treaties or organisations... :O
What we really want is an intense diplomatic crisis. The PPP has had a massive grudge against you guys for ages, the thing is there is nobody in Rutania that was present for the original crisis. The issue is here, and we can revisit it again soon hopefully :D )
IC: War will come, be ready for it when it does. There will be no mercy. Death to the Foreign Devils!!!!

Random fact: In cases where players introduce RP laws to a nation and then leave, Moderation reserves the discretion to declare the RP laws void if they appear to have fallen into disuse. In particular, please bear in mind that a player who is inexperienced with Particracy role-play and has joined a nation as the only party there should not generally be expected to abide by RP laws implemented by previous players who have been and left.
