Message | We are against identity cards, after all, if they are not required to carry them, why have them? And why are driving licences not good enough as a method of identification? |
Date | 14:55:13, August 24, 2005 CET | From | Civil Liberties Party | To | Debating the Identity Cards Act |
Message | Driving licences are nice, but this is not about driving licenses... it's about government issued identity cards, which are not driving licenses, and we feel that citizens are not required to have to carry around government issued identity cards unless they feel like it. |
Date | 17:52:39, August 24, 2005 CET | From | Ducal Delegation | To | Debating the Identity Cards Act |
Message | We favour keeping the law as it currently standards. We live in an age of international terrorism and ever more sophistical forms of criminal activity. The police and security services have to be able to keep one step ahead. |
Date | 18:28:43, August 24, 2005 CET | From | Aldegar Restauration Party | To | Debating the Identity Cards Act |
Message | Many citizens don't have driving license, or any other identyfing document except the identity card. They will not be ablwe to prove their identity if we retire this card from it's use, making many legal and administrative matters harder. |
Date | 08:41:54, August 25, 2005 CET | From | Alliance of Free Persons | To | Debating the Identity Cards Act |
Message | The Alliance of Free Persons feels that the benefits of having a single, standardised national identity card outweighs the potental infringements on people's civil liberties. |
