MessageWe are against identity cards, after all, if they are not required to carry them, why have them? And why are driving licences not good enough as a method of identification?

MessageDriving licences are nice, but this is not about driving licenses... it's about government issued identity cards, which are not driving licenses, and we feel that citizens are not required to have to carry around government issued identity cards unless they feel like it.

MessageWe favour keeping the law as it currently standards. We live in an age of international terrorism and ever more sophistical forms of criminal activity. The police and security services have to be able to keep one step ahead.

MessageMany citizens don't have driving license, or any other identyfing document except the identity card. They will not be ablwe to prove their identity if we retire this card from it's use, making many legal and administrative matters harder.

MessageThe Alliance of Free Persons feels that the benefits of having a single, standardised national identity card outweighs the potental infringements on people's civil liberties.
