MessageNuclear arms should never be used; however, they are a deterrent to hostile nations. As we are still a young nation, it is too early to let our guard down. However, we do agree that nuclear weapons use are a supreme end to the right to life.

MessageI recognise that we are a fledgling nation however, money not used to fund nuclear development could be used to fund additional defence measures from air and ground attack.

MessageYeah that'd be a good idea. Anyway. It seems it will pass now unless anyone changes their mind, so if trouble shows I suppose we can always repeal it.

MessageAfraid not. nuclear weapons are the only effective deterent to a hostile nuclear force, and can threaten a conventional force as well, allowing us to actually reduce spending on nuclear arms. besides, The current legislation doesn't say we will build nuclear arms, it simply says we reserve the right to. I say keep our options open.

MessageWho says that we're armed? We only reserve the right to arm ourselves if the need arises. Not that we're actually armed.

MessageExactly. The right to self defense is imperative. Though 1 million times moreso for the individual.

MessageI'd disagree with that statement... but meh. This isn't a smallarms legalizaiton bill, so I won't argue the point.
