Message | We strongly support the effort to become more internationally acquainted. |

Message | We need to grant approval in order to keep track of who is coming into our country. Embassies can have a large role to play in International relations you know - if we fall out with someone, we can remove their embassy or send some diplomats home, we can choose which governments to recognise etc. This move could potentially land us in hot water - imagine there is an uprising in a country, and the new government opens an embassy in Dorvik - what message does that give to the government of the nation and the broader international community? |
Date | 20:27:05, November 21, 2007 CET | From | Supreme Party of the Republic | To | Debating the Embassies Bill |
Message | The message sent will be that the Dorvish people is ready to discuss with the whole world in a democratic way. Wouldn't that be better than the actual policy? |
Date | 21:02:47, November 21, 2007 CET | From | Dorvish Popular Front | To | Debating the Embassies Bill |
Message | I somehow doubt that the government under attack would. I also doubt international opinion would look favourably upon a government who extends the hand of friendship towards "the Corrupt Military Dictatorship of Examplia" or "the Radical Islamic Dictatorship of Hypotheticalia" or even "the Anti-Semitic Rogue State of Bastardland". Surely we must conduct foreign affairs with more finesse than this? |
