Date | 22:35:13, November 22, 2007 CET | From | We Say So! Party | To | Debating the Welfare of the workers |
Message | We disagree, and we will explain why. Article 2: DMC's are inherently inefficient and not cost effective. They are slow and laborious when attempting to make decisions, and would be harmful to the competitive nature of the economy on both a national and international front. Article 3: Not all striking workers are necessarily striking fairly. Just as the workers are protected from being fired from striking when they have a fair grievance, the companies must also have the ability to fire those workers who are striking unfairly. In order to guarantee that those businesses cannot just fire any worker that goes on strike, as our laws allow for legitimate strikes to occur, the business can bring before the government a case against any workers they deem to be striking unfairly and have that decision ratified or not. Our current system allows for checks and balances for both sides in a disagreement and so guarantees that neither side has complete power over the other. Article 4: Secondary strike action by workers in other professions or companies is unethical and economically damaging. Should workers wish to go in strike to improve their pay or conditions that is a fair grievance, however why should other businesses, and the public as a whole, suffer because another Trade Union wishes to support their action. They may offer financial aid and assistance to those workers should they deem it necessary, but for other workers to strike and damage the whole economy is foolish and destructive for the economy as a whole. |
