Bill: Liberties in thinking
Details
Submitted by[?]: Social Republican Party
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: July 2102
Description[?]:
We feel that the government, not having a right to 'recognise' religions, shall not descriminate against religious school proposals based up whether we have or haven't 'recognised' religions. As well, due to the fact that the religious schools are regulated, this will ensure that no child will be brainwashed. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The governments stance on religious schools.
Old value:: Religious schools are allowed, but are strictly regulated. Only recognised religions may set up religious schools.
Current: Only recognised religions may set up religious schools, with no regulations.
Proposed: Any religion may set up a school, but they are strictly regulated.

Message | we cannot agree to such a proposal. Religion should be accepted and recognized by the state. By permitting unrecognized religions to set up schools, we are removing one additional reason why a church should become recognized. |
Date | 20:52:03, August 26, 2005 CET | From | LibCom Party | To | Debating the Liberties in thinking |
Message | We agree with the SRP that the government should have nothing to with religion. Thus we'd rather not allow religious schools at all, but will consider supporting this bill as an improvement on the status quo. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
