Bill: Outlaw human cloning
Details
Submitted by[?]: removed
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2040
Description[?]:
Cloning human beings makes life a good. Besides cloning has problems, which should first be solved before even thinking of cloning life. Even if you do not believe in the inikresaistic values, you can not want that unconsenting human beings suffer due to experiments. |

Debate
These messages have been posted to debate on this bill:

From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | We are against this proposal. We believe that cloning will eventually result in readily available organ doners. |

From | Deadly Buzz Party | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | We are against cloning human beings. But I believe in , which I believe would be a seperate topic, is cloning individual organs. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | I think I have to remind my social democratic comrade that it is a crime in most ethical systems to create human life only to exploit or even kill it. If you however only want to clone organs, that is still allowed, only the artificial creation of human life is outlawed. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | We support the creation of fully cloned humans which do not live long enough to develop a personality for harvest. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | Do you know when life starts, Comrade? Do you want to be judge in this question? Would you have preferred that instead of coming to life, you would have been killed just to be exploited by others? |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | Life starts once a person is aware that they exist. It is proven that a child does not understand that it exists until approximately three months old. In accelerated aging terms, this is plenty time to harvest organs and dispose of the lifeless body. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | (Which is the stance of my party, not neccesarily my own personal stance.) |
Date | not recorded |
From | Deadly Buzz Party | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | So you want to make people just to kill them just for their organs? Would it not be better just clone individual organs so there is no "lifeless body" to be disposed of. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | research has many possibilities in lesser known fields. Until it is not evaluated wether adult stem cells can be used or organs can be breed selectively, we shouldn't even think about the most costing (it costs a life!) and most unelegant method!
The Social-Democrat comrade should consider that his view means and the Animal Protection Act lead to the situation that animals have more rights than babies! |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | We support stem cell research, thereputic cloning, cloning for organ harvesting (assuming the clone was destroyed prior to developing a personality, like in an abortion), and reproductive cloning (assuming clones are given the same rights as everyone else).
Whether or not adult stem cells are useable or not, embryonic stem cells have been proven to be easier to produce and more effective. Since the Neo-Socialist Party does not recognise a fetus as a life, we have no issue with harvesting stem cells from them, and will fight this legislation to the death. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | There were more than hundred failures before Dolly was cloned and the sheep suffered from early aging and other problems. Even if you support cloning you have to admit that we want no human being to suffer from genetic diseases and early aging because we created it like this. Even if you support cloning you should at first solve the problems with cloning animals before even thinking about cloning humans! |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | The only way to solve those problems is by experimentation. Note... we do believe that one should walk before one can run, and do not believe that reproductive cloning should occur yet. However, using human cloning for theraputic purposes is perfectly reasonable. |

From | Libertarian Party of Valruzia | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | Case by case is best answer. There are some ethical problems with cloning such as genetic engineering and such, but it does provide a vast amount of opportunities in medical research. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | We have no problems with genetic engineering either =) But in that case, I assume you are in favour of the research being generally legal, with restrictions on some kinds and methods of research. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | well, I can remind the member of parliament who spoke for the NSP that you can experiment with non-humans too and that should work right before you should think of all the factors, I mentioned earlier, will influence human beings, who do have more kansu than animals! |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | You suggest that we perform tests on animals when only a few months ago you voted to outlaw cosmetic tests on animals IN FAVOUR OF HUMAN TESTING? At what point will it be permissable to test cloning on humans? How many lives must be crippled by the effects of debilitating deseases and injuries before we are allowed to research technologies that can help those people? |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | You do not understand me... I support voluntary testing over unvoluntary testing, especially since every third cosmetic test on animals has a different result than one on a human being. Also here I am on the side of the efficiency and style: reach the most scientific results with the least destruction of Kansu or creating of unworthy life. No cell can volunteer to be used in research, but creating crippled animal life is less effective in terms of negative Simu.
It is not as if I am voting to outlaw all scientific research: in contrary: If less research is done on an overhyped field, more research has a chance to be successfull. |
Date | not recorded |
From | Libertarian Party of Valruzia | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | There is a fair amount of dispute in the Libertarian Party over this issue as party members debate where to put our stance. It is so that our vote may be belated. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | As we do not believe in 'Simu' or 'Kansu'... we feel your arguments are irrelevent. You obviously are not on the side of efficiency, for you are forbidding research. Scientific censorship is one of the most frightening things imaginable, because then it can lead, easily, to the outlawing of other kinds of research, or even the creative editing of research to fit an ideological following. The Neo-Socialist party will ALWAYS support unfettered research. As for this statement 'If less research is done on an overhyped field, more research has a chance to be successfull', it is simply not true. Reasearch is synergistic, by restricting research in one area you restrict research in all areas. |
Date | not recorded |
From | Liberal Democrats | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | We would rather have an option to look at it case by case, but since that's not possible, let's allow it for now. |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | We can pass further legislation restricting certain areas of research if it remains legal on the whole. We'll fight it of course =) |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | OOC: Simu is something between pride and Karma. Kansu is the ethical worth, every being has. humans have more Kansu than animals and the Side'he'ny (higher beings) more Kansu than humans |
Date | not recorded |
From | | To | Debating the Outlaw human cloning | Message | Liberal democrats, if you want to allow it, why are you voting to outlaw it? |

Random fact: When you join the game, you will find yourself with only zero seats. That's because your party's representatives haven't been elected yet. You need to establish your party's position on issues by proposing several bills that your party wants passed and sending them to vote. This raises your visibility and if you do it enough, you will win seats at the next election. |
