Bill: Constitutional Amendment on Members of the Parliament
Details
Submitted by[?]: Genuine Progress Alliance
Status[?]: defeated
Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2492
Description[?]:
This bill aims to reduce the number of members of the Parliament from 700 to 500. We believe that 500 members is sufficient enough to compose the Parliament and that 700 is just too much. Also, the budget spent for the salaries of the Parliament members can also be reduced, which means that there will be more money for other departments like Health, Education, and Environment. |
Proposals
Article 1
Proposal[?] to change The total number of seats in the legislative assembly. Should be between 75 and 750.
Old value:: 700
Current: 350
Proposed: 500

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
