Message | Immigration leads to expanded opportunities for trade and growth. We support some controls, but not the banning in its totality. |

Message | RLP, you MISunderstood this bill. It does NOT "ban immigration." Rather, it just enforces against ILLEGAL immigration and that Foreigners should not PERMANENTLY stay in the nation for Natioinal Security purposes. The CWFP maintains its PRINCIPLED position that we have an "OPEN-door" policy with respect to LEGAL immigration, 0% Tariffs/Quotas on imports, and UNLIMITED foreign investment in Likatonia!!! (haha) |

Message | CWFP, that is not what this Bill says. This is a disturbing trend of proposing legislation that says one thing, but claiming it says something else. Please try and be clearer, or alternatively less duplicitous. |

Message | CWFP... are your party members incapable of reading, or just disingenuous? By saying foreigners can NEVER be permitted to reside permanently within the nation... you are absolutely shutting down immigration. The AM RLP are right. If no one foreign can reside permanently, that means no 'permanent residents' and no new citizens. You do not have an open door policy to legal immigration. You do not have an open door policy at all. You have, in fact, attempted to shut the door. Incontrevertably. |

Message | "By saying foreigners can NEVER be permitted to reside permanently within the nation... you are absolutely shutting down immigration. The AM RLP are right. If no one foreign can reside permanently, that means no 'permanent residents' and no new citizens."--TDP Let us clarify our position more accurately: The CWFP doesn't believe in so-called "permanent residents." That is CODE-NAME for *de jure* AMNESTY of Illegal immigration. (1) Rather, we believe that the Immigration & Naturalization Service of Likatonia should establish a PERMANENT "Ellis Island"-type Immigration Port on the border on all sides in addition to a steel constructed border fence. (2) However, we believe that the entire naturalization process be SIMPLIFIED so as the only "Litmus Test" for citizenship would be the following: (a) Criminal Background check (72 hours); (b) Medical Background check (2-3 weeks); (c) Pass a proficiency exam in the English language with is the NATIONAL (not "official") of Likatonia (varies according to individual applicant); IMMEDIATELY upon the completion of those 3 qualifications, the immigrant will be automatically granted Citizenship and can pass the "border fence" to enter our beloved nation (haha). |

Message | 1) Likatonians have never spoken 'English'. 2) Since Likatonia consists of three distinct ethnic groups, we don't even have one national language - much less an official one. 3) Steel border fences? Sounds more like a prison for Likatonians than anything else. 4) The CWFP honestly intends to finance a fence ALL round Likatonia? With what - slave labour and confiscated materials? 5) If your little clauses aren't in the original text, they aren't going to be voted on - simple as. Sicne your party seems to have opted to not preface bills anymore, you can't exactly act surprised if parties vote according to the actual bill. 6) Why does a criminal background check matter? So, Immigrant X once stole some gloves from the Lodamese Sparx and Mensa store... how does that affect their ability to function as a Likatonian citizen? As an OOC: I am a permanent resident. I am most certainly not an illegal alien, and have been granted no amnesty. On the contrary, the fantastically incompetent BCIS has had several thousands of dollars out of me for nothing more than the privilege of living with my family. |

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators. |
