Message | "Do you have any idea of what this would do to the vast majority of the population who can support themselves, or are being supported through family, friends and private charity who rely on the private system for their health needs? There is nothing your pathetic group of extremists can do, even though good intentioned, that won't have a negative effect over all. Passing this law is condemning the private system to inflation of prices, lack of staff and services and a overall drop of quality and quantity. Besides, this is completely unnecessary. The LP recognizes that health care is very important, and if all other options have being exhausted, the State will pay for some individual's treatment. Meanwhile, the rest of the population benefits from a stable health system which gives them choice, (do you think the State will be nice enough to set up hospitals catering for various religions, like alternative blood transfusion wards for Jehovah's Witnesses and mosques for Zardugal's Muslim population?) quality service that's improving every day due to competition, and most important of all, a competitive price." ~Wade Kravant, Minister of Health and Social Services |

Message | Members of the Liberty Party, we of the Revolutionary Socialists have attempted a veneer of patience and forbearance with the unending barrage of infantile mockery, but now we must state that your reception to the proposal is, not to put too fine a point on it, insane. The Revolutionary Socialist Party is at the current time bending over backwards to accomodate the desires of other parties, and in return has only been slapped in the face. Well, that's politics. It is also an abject admission of the Liberty Party's ignorance the inclusion of Muslim mosques as a reason against a public health service, Muslims are more than willing to be cured in standard hospitals, but if they want faith-healing they are more than welcome to go to the local mosque. Of course the prices in the private system will go up and they will flounder, but because they will lose all of their business to the efficient, dedicated, and free service of the national hospitals. Establishing a national health service will provide healthcare to all Zardugali citizens, whether rich or poor, man, woman or child. Incidentally, there are several nations with fully national healthcare services, which the leaders of the Revolutionary Socialists know personally, and they suffer no catastrophic economic problems. |

Message | "I do hope that the Socialists realise that there isn't any money to pay for this!" -the Duke of Lawlborough, Chancellor |
Date | 14:07:57, November 28, 2007 CET | From | Saiserist League | To | Debating the Moderate Healthcare Reform |
Message | The Revolutionary Socialist wishes to make a joint statement to the Duke of Lawlborough saying that the Cavalier and Liberty Parties cannot have it both ways. They cannot reject attempts to pull in more revenue by moderate tax increases and use lack of surplus revenue to pay for basic social services. The proposals made are quite simple, they are nothing too radical, and the Revolutionary Socialists believe the reception they have garnered is a clear indication as to how extreme reactionary parties there are in Zardugal. |
