Description[?]:
"There is something very wrong with a nation that neglects a substantial demographic of its people. In this instance it is children. The current Child Benefit system, whilst admirably providing for the poor, nevertheless neglects those who have the misfortune to be born into large families, which endangers their growth and development opportunities. A single child born of parents with a very small income is no different than an eighth child born of parents with eight times the income, in fact they are quite probably in a worse position as they have to take the leavings of their older siblings. This arcane system must be reformed, today!" -Daniel V. Feterokov, in the proposition speech to the National Directory |

Message | "We have rejected this bill for one reason. If we support large families in general, this will lead to parents getting more and more children just to improve their financial situation. This is not reasonable and not in the sense of the children. Anyway, we are likely to support parents to afford costs araising from giving childs a propper home." |

Message | We believe the National Authoritarian Movement may wish to reconsider its position upon further consideration. The members of the Revolutionary Socialist Party thought about the concern they have proposed, but realized that this initiative does not improve financial situations by granting child benefit, it is not an incentive to raise large families. Under the current system, parents who make a reasonable income but happen to have large numbers of children have ruined futures, which is simply unfair to the children. It is not a case of granting a free lunch to unfortunate children, but rather trying to alleviate their misfortune and grant them a fighting chance in life. |

Message | "This would allow millionaires with a undefined "large family" to receive welfare payments! If parents know they can't afford another child, don't have another. Simple as that." ~Wade Kravant, Health and Social Services Minister |
Date | 08:54:02, December 01, 2007 CET | From | Saiserist League | To | Debating the Child Salvation Plan |
Message | "What millionaire with a large family is going to walk down to the welfare office and wait in line to collect a couple of zardugals? This is reality distortion at its worst. Incidentally, there is a strong negative correlation between wealth and family size, poorer families are likely to be larger whilst rich couples are more likely to be childless or have only a single child. Failing to support this proposition condemns the sizable, and innocent, demographic our beloved Comrade-Chairman Feterokov has already spoken of. No fellow comrade of the Socialist movement should oppose this bill and side with the evil imperialist reactionaries, unless they have perceived something we have most embarrasingly missed." -Karl von Friedricht, First Secretary of the Revolutionary Socialist Party |
