Message | What is the rationale for restricting private post offices? If a person delivers a letter for a friend, because it's on their way, that person would be breaching the law as it is now. Does that not seem ridiculous? |
Date | 18:43:27, December 01, 2007 CET | From | One Nation Socialist Party | To | Debating the Postal Service Amendment Act |
Message | it does seem ridiculous and thats why we don't have a law restricting it. there is a difference between delivering a letter for a friend and setting up your own company and being paid to deliver letter to destinations by a volume of customers. |
Date | 22:43:48, December 01, 2007 CET | From | Judicial Union Party | To | Debating the Postal Service Amendment Act |
Message | So what is the limit in volume? What about children delivering pamphlets? They are delivering a volume of mail for pay, so under this criterion, they must be criminals by doing so. By the law as it is, anyone performing a post office function is a criminal. We hardly feel that's right. |
Date | 19:32:40, December 02, 2007 CET | From | Flemish Liberation Front | To | Debating the Postal Service Amendment Act |
Message | there is no limit in volume... if you don't charge for your services, you're not running a postal office (company) and you're not doing anything illegal... keep the law as it is. |
