Bill: Likatonia, land of Joy

Details

Submitted by[?]: Neue Kommunistische Liga

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2495

Description[?]:

In order to propose a current National Anthem, we have proposed an Ode to our great land.

A) The ode follows these lines

A1)http://youtube.com/watch?v=mwaAtVgsl4E

This is because we believe the Likatonia should be a loving land, a joyful land, that is peaceful, unless messed with. It should be an accepting land, with her arms open to all that wish to come here, through the golden door. Even if one does not understand the language that the song is sung in, what does it matter? Music IS the Universal language.

We present to you an ode, to Joy and Likatonia.

MessageWhilst we are not convinced by some of the lyrics, particularly the bit about the Cheruc standing before God, we will support, as a move to remove the late great Rhonda.

MessageDanke,

Whether you believe in god or not (CoughAMDWPcough) you have to just take a look at the beauty behind these lyrics, and this song.

It preaches everything that every party supports, love for mankind.
Even you LFF, you have to admit, that war is bad, and that love for one another is better.

MessageWar is inevitable. When the time for Likatonia to expand beyond the current borders of the rump state, we envisage liberation through steel, freedom through blood and liberty through death.

OOC: The original culture of Likatonia was 'Scandanavian' in feel, and although the Germanification is possibly not altogether incompatible ... at a pinch ... we can't really support a German Anthem.

MessageOOC: The Likatonian history is a bizarre bastardisation - the natives of this corner of the world are semi-darkskinned, based on Babylon. There is basically no native PURE stock left. Most of what came after has been a Viking-like immigration that has been crossbreeding the native stock for tens of centuries. There are now three basic populations - the viking/natives, oriental/natives (akin to the Lodamese) and the Merian natives.

The climate has been set as something like the Russian steppes or east Europe... a lot of rain, fog.. a fairly dreary place. Thus - the names of the towns tend to be Viking-y names crossed with Russian-y elements. The current slight swing towards Germany has basically been a slight shift in the focus - similar to (for example) West Germany gaining a slight edge over East.

Still - while the German isn't too much of a stretch, it's more about political power than necessarily being representative of the general population.

IC: We are happy to support this as an alternative to the current anthem.

OOC: NKP - the double posts are most likely occuring because you are refreshing the page after you've typed something, probably checking to see if anyone replied, etc.
