| While it may be very tempting to allow anyone to own and breed any exotic animals whatsoever, (excepting those under threat of extinction) to do so would be to place our native fauna and flora under extreme threat. How many people have seen a native red squirrel, since the import of the grey squirrel? The same ecological disaster has happened over and over again in the past. To prevent such disasters, but to allow our people access to exotic fauna and flora, we propose that only professional and licensed zoological societies be permitted to keep exotic species. |
