Bill: Emergency Executive Authority: Income Tax Bill of 2496

Details

Submitted by[?]: 帝国公明党 (Teikoku Kōmeitō)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill proposes to change income taxes. It requires more than half of the legislature to vote yes. This bill will pass as soon as the required yes votes are in, or will be defeated if unsufficient votes are reached on the deadline.

Voting deadline: February 2497

Description[?]:

Do to the current economic/spending crisis Sekowo is currently in, I am using my Executive authority as Head of State to try to end the situation as quickly as possible by proposing this taxation bill.

Having to tax those with so low income the amount proposed does not sit well with my conscious, but it, along with the spending bill was the only way that the desired result was obtainable.

I of course intend this only as in interim bill, to simply keep the country from going into further debt.
The 22 million in excess will act as small payment methods to pay off the several hundred billion we are in debt as it is.

MessageThis bill is entirely unacceptable, it does nothing but tax every body of society into near poverty.

MessageIt is the only real way that we can make the amount of money needed currently without taxing the poorest segment of our society.

Further more we do not intend this be permanent, just an interim system until we can make further adjustments to spending and find a better way to get the money without taxing large sums of money from everywhere.

MessageWe have severe problems with this increased taxation. However, we fully support keeping a balanced budget. We would prefer reducing government services to increased taxation.

MessageWe ultimately cannot condone tax increases this steep. We might be persuaded to vote in favour of mild increases to support a balanced budget, but this goes overboard.

MessageA government spending bill with an 80 billion SEK reduction.
As Ive said over and over again, this is an interim plan, until we can all agree on better tax and spending plans.

MessageToo frequently interim plans get made permanent. Why don't we start on better tax and spending plans now?
