Our students know history, languages and geography well. But look at their results at geometry and algebra! Only 8% know Pithagorean Theorem. We must promote technical sciences: more lessons to math and physics, open more technical colleges, institutes and so on.

MessageThis is meant in public schools, right? We wouldn't want to be dictating to everyone what they should learn.

MessageWon't have much effect if it's only for public schools as we're privatising them all soon - remember the education reform act!

MessageMight have an effect anyways. Direct effect before the public schools are phased out. We can't just tear them down around the ears of the pupils. And then most of the public schools will (likely) be taken over by private school-firms or parent/staff cooperatives. If the school has a tradition of being good at scienses many of them will keep that up.

MessageMost parents want their kids to learn science, what has caused the current sad state is that many schools (among them all public schools) give pupils a large influence on what is taught. And since kids want easy subjects or things they can use on the vacation they don't choose science.

MessageWith our reform parents will be given back the power over education, so all we need from this bill is a temporary fix.
