Bill: Banning of Partisan Militias
Details
Submitted by[?]: Christian Communist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: January 2500
Description[?]:
it was recently revealed to the Diet that the HNP has armed party members and are using them in support of the right wing parties of Sekowo against their left wing opposition. In this case the CCP does not want to enter into a partisan conflict about which of the two warring factions is in the right but I think all can agree that the use of private militias operating from Gishoto in a foreign country will undermine the foreign policy of the government. We therefore ask that the Diet resolves that political parties may not use party funds to maintain their militia outside of the borders of the republic.
and furthermore condems the Hulstrian Nationalist Party for acting on matters of foreign policy without the approval of the Diet or Government of Gishoto. |

From | Anarchitarians | To | Debating the Banning of Partisan Militias | Message | It does propose an interesting question. What if the party waging war on the allies you wish to support are being funded, equipped, and supported by outsiders as well? Is this fair to the party being attacked to not be able to ask for assistance from the outside? The only thing that bothers me is the HNP acting on matter of foreign policy on our behalf. Is there a way to resolve this issue? |

From | Revolutionary Socialist Front | To | Debating the Banning of Partisan Militias | Message | There is no reason why parties cannot have armed militia, and in fact the RSF has a reasonably-sized militia consisting of members trained in melee weaponry (because of the current illegal status of private ownership of guns), used mainly to protect party meetings and demonstrations from fascist disruptors. If guns were made legal for private individuals, we would immediate begin arming our militia with such weapons. What is problematic is a party (a minority party at that) using its own private militia abroad, as representative of the Republic. This simply will not do, and we demand that the HNP withdraw its forces from Sekowo immediately. |

From | Hulstrian Nationalist Party | To | Debating the Banning of Partisan Militias | Message | None of you have the right to influence our supporters actions. We are in control of our militia, and will use them as we see fit. Whether you attempt to ban militias being used outside our nation is irrelevant, and will have no affect on our use of them to protect our allies from unwarranted attack. |
