Message | Article 1: No. What is the message we are sending to those who will advance our society, that your work is not protected? Good luck encouraging scientists and artists to come here, and scientists and artists born here to stay. Article 2: No. Too much power to government. |

Message | Anarchitarian, as regards your point on Article 1: Actually, empirical evidence proves you wrong. In the area of intellectual property law there has arisen something called a copyleft, whereby software can be freely used, distributed and modified so long as you do not use it to make a profit and if you modify it you have to release the modifications also under the copyleft. Basically, in real life copyright protection on software is being significantly eroded in Europe, yet open-source software is much better than closed-source software, and always improving. I am posting from a laptop using the Xubuntu Linux operating system. It doesn't enjoy traditional copyright protection, yet it is much, much better than Windows, which does. |

Random fact: Cultural Protocol bills must provide a real-life equivalent or short description for the ethnic groups, languages and religions contained in them, such that it would be easy for an unfamiliar player to understand (e.g. "Dundorfian = German"). Where appropriate, they should also provide guidance to players on where to find help with translations and character names. This might include, for example, links to Google Translate, Behind the Name's Random Name Generator and Fantasy Name Generators. |
